Some notes from Climate Skeptic talk 4, 7/13/22
The Twitter Space recording (about 90 minutes) is here.
Co-host was Joe Wellborn (@CupoJoeBlow); speakers included Jim Lakely (@jlakely, JW Spry (@HorribleHorrie2), LibertyMom (@modmothernature), @listen_2learn @tmwillemse, @tim_dunkerton and others.
Joe read aloud some of this excellent thread about “the green delusion”.
Here are my notes on the how and why of using the Climate Skeptic Discord server.
I mentioned the No Agenda podcast (with Adam Curry and John Dvorak) as a good source of info on recent news about Sri Lanka, the Netherlands, etc.
Jim Lakely (and I) mentioned the excellent Heartland Institute podcasts.
Jim mentioned the fight against the evils of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance). Related Heartland info is here.
Someone DM-ed me: “James Lindsay is a leader in the anti -ESG movement. @ConceptualJames”
Tim Dunkerton stressed that we can’t model clouds, and this is a showstopper when trying to model climate.
LibertyMom mentioned the evils of scaring kids with climate cult propaganda; she may contact Jim Lakely for climate realist info that could be useful for home-schooled kids.
@tmwillemse recommended that we read this: The "New Energy Economy": An Exercise in Magical Thinking”.
Scott McDonough DMed me this (I agree): “regardless of what gets spent, the left will claim victory; they’ll say we did just enough and just in time to avert disaster.
Whatever is spent will be packaged as the appropriate amount, “proving” they averted an unknown.”
From @lucaberta: “Hey Tom, I joined the space as it was wrapping up, sadly, but heard the recommendation of @MarkPMills “magical thinking” paper. His podcast “The Last Optimist” is also excellent and full of great information and interviews with many different guests”
Highly recommended!
